Atom DAC 2

I had orginally purchased the smsl su1 to hook up my smart tv to my vintage Yamaha CR820 amp. It did the job fine until it didn't. After only 7 months of not a ton of use it started to have a dead static type noise outputting to the speakers I had zero support since it was off Amazon other than basic troubleshooting which I did. Never buying audio equipment like this off then again. I did some research and came to the conclusion this Atom dac 2 would fit the bill and wow has it ever lived up to the reviews I read. It has more power and a much cleaner sound than the smsl su1. The cherry on top is the custom engraving looks amazing! I also had it shipped to me in Canada which only took a few short days. Great product from a great company. I also like that I have a warranty with this one. Can't wait to enjoy this for years.

The Atom 2 dac and amp are one those rare gem products of which their quality and performance exceed their price point! Their performance and build quality is rock solid. When connecting rca cables with stiff connector collars, the female rca outputs and inputs don't budge a bit when plugging them in. If the units were small enough to put in your pocket, your phone would be heavier than these units. If you hear noise floor at moderate to high volumes, it's coming from your poor preamped analog source. The buttons are also solid and don't have any play to them. Having a volume knob that clicks on/off at the bottom of the turn is a convenient feature to have. Both Atom 2 units came with a certification cards indicating that the units passed inspection. Not many companies spend the time and money to do that. My only nitpick is that I wish the middle of the light ring on the atom dac 2 was a push button as the on/off switch. When contacting customer service about combining shipping for both atom 2 units as I purchased the amp first, originally thinking that I was going to use an analog source, then wanting to purchase the dac to use a digital source, I didn't see that there was a combo purchase available. The staff consolidated my separate orders and refunded the separate order shipping cost and were quick to get back to me to do it on the verge of the weekend in order to have everything ready to ship first thing the following Monday! Great customer service and great products!

My only complaint about the original Atom DAC was that the build quality felt a bit flimsy. The Atom 2 fixes all of that in a rock solid shell with the same clear sound for an unbeatable price.

Have this hooked up to an old Sony CD player with an amp and Sennheiser HD600's. The Atom DAC 2 is everything I hoped it would be.

Rec’s my Atom stack and really like it a lot. Just wish I don’t have to unplug the headphones to play music in my speakers. No worries because this is a very capable stack to use. Music is more detailed and 3D. Great purchase.

I've had about 12 pair of different Headphones dating back to 1970. I've never had a DAC component before, but after connecting and hearing the difference with this JDS Atom 2 DAC, I will never be without it. I should be ordering a 2nd JDS DAC soon for one of my other systems.

I was gifted an Atom Amp 2 for my birthday, and after a few emails with JDS on how to best use it with my current system, I required a DAC. Wanting to keep it in the JDS family, I went with the Atom DAC 2. Not only does it sound incredible with my Sennheiser headphones, but they also included an additional cable to make the final connection to my streaming amp and not additional cost! (I didn't even ask) This is the kind of service that gets you a customer for life. Will be recommending this brand to everyone.

Made a difference having a separate sac and amplifier for my sennheiser 650 headphones.
