Atom Amp 2

I purchased the Atom Amp 2 to replace an aged Atom 1 that I cooked, and may I say, the housing construction switch from polymer to aluminum is a massive boon. The new volume rheostat and knob is very pleasant, however, I wish there was a toggle switch for power instead of an "off position" in the rheostat.

I was somewhat disappointed in my DT1770 Pro headphones until hooking them up to the Atom 2 Stack. I’m hearing sounds and instruments I’ve never noticed before in songs I’ve listened to hundreds of times. Exceeds my expectations tenfold.

Good clean sound at all volume levels. Build quality is top notch. volume knob is the perfect size and shape, easy for me to grab on to and use. FIIO K11 volume was annoying and way too shallow to get a hold of. Pre outs have a good output level and work well with my Audioengine speakers. The FIIO K11 was too quiet, This amp matches it in sound quality to my ears, but is better made and has better ergonomics. Pre outs are louder and more useful on this amp. I switched to this amp after a few months because the FIIO K11 developed a channel imbalance that got worse over time.

Have the system powering a Audio technical Ath-Adx 5000 headphones (the setup has plenty of power)

The amp works very well for my Senheisser HD600. I can't imagine any headphone in this price range can do a better job than the JDS LABS Atom Amp 2.

I love this thing! It drives all of my headphones easily in low gain (Audeze LCD-XC, DCA Aeon RT, Sennheiser HD 6XX). The metal case feels nice and stable, and I love the aesthetics. The volume knob is a nice size and feels very smooth. I love that the power switch is integrated into the knob. The free engraving looks great! Nitpicks? I might like the headphone jack to be farther from the volume knob, and a lower/negative gain setting might be nice for IEMs (although there was still enough play for me when I tried some of my own IEMs, so I consider it a non-issue, really). Other than that, this amp is about as close to perfect as I could ask for. Terrific value. 5 stars easy.

I have been really enjoying using my new JDS Atom Amp 2 the last few weeks. Form/Factor is really good and the light around the gain knob is perfect. Shape of the case and it's layout is well designed and is virtually silent in operation. Can we get a recognition of the channel balance of this amp and the fact attention is paid to getting consistent potentiometers that are checked ! That is very important to me and JDS gets my respect for getting that done. I contacted the support line for a couple of questions and was answered like immediately. Received product well packed and quickly. Plus it is affordable

The JDS Atom Amp 2 is a power beast for the price, brings out the best of the HD6XX dynamic drivers, transparent, clean and powerful.

I bought the Atom 2 DAC and Amp combo to go along with my new HifiMan Ananda Nano. What a pairing, I must say! The Atom 2 has so much more headroom to power even more demanding headphones, so I'm covered for future headphone upgrades too. At this price point (or even +$200), I don't think there's any make or model that can rival the Atom 2 line.

Purchased Atom 2 stack recently (really wanted element 3 boosted but was outside of my budget). Atom 2 DAC/AMP are phenomenal quality especially for the price. The stack drives my headphones flawlessly, easy to use and the sound is very clean (not a hint of noise even on high gain and sensitive headphones). When I had questions John was very quick to reply and very helpful. I purchased from JDS Labs directly (shipping to Canada was quick and I received the products in perfect/new condition). I highly recommend JDS Labs products to all my friends, family and gaming buddies. Great quality products all around and 5 star customer service.

I did an unhealthy amount of research before always circling back to the JDS Atom 2 stack every time. It has all the features anyone would ever need in a desktop Amp/DAC stack. One of the unique features the Atom Amp has over the competition is multiple analog inputs which was an important thing for me, allows the DAC and my turntable to be switched with just a press of a button. You'd be hard pressed to find another stack capable of an additional input, and a lot of combo amp/dacs don't even have any analog inputs. The DAC 2 works so seamlessly with MAC and Windows 11, requiring no additional drivers, it just works at its full 32 bit 384khz capability from the first plug in of the USB cord. one of the main selling point to me was the volume knob size, so many devices skimp on this important aspect of the interaction between the amp and user. JDS selected an outstanding potentiometer with the perfect rotational resistance combined with the dimensions of the knob create an enjoyable experience. As far as the actual performance. it exceeded expectations with its natural sound. increasable output, and ease of use. JDS made a customer for life.

Ok so this is my first dac/amp stack and the first foray into "audiophile" desktop equipment and i must say it is fantastic, music through my dt880 pro 250 ohms has never sounded better, and the fact that you can get free custom engraving is the icing on the cake, great service from a great company.

I'm using the Atom 2 to drive my 300 ohm Sennheiser HD 6XXX headphones. I could eke by without it, but the Atom now does most of the heavy lifting. I'm still working on adjusting the volume of the source unit with the volume on the Atom and how it all relates to the gain. I am very happy with the results so far!

I bought the JDS Atom 2 Bundle, I am very happy with my purchase, I simply have no complaints.

These were the first items I've bought from JDS and their shipping was very rapid. Customs here in the UK made a bit of a meal of releasing them so they got held up for a few extra days. First impression upon unpacking was that they're high quality items for their price, very solid feeling and nicely finished. The units were bought to use on my desk at work. They replaced an iBasso DC06 dac from the (android) phone and an O2 amp being used with a much larger than supplied transformer. Headphones are 64ohm Sennheiser HD280PRO (need robustness rather than ultimate sound quality). The sound quality improvement over the old setup was immediately obvious, and it continued to improve over the next few hours of use. The units run nicely warm; I have them arranged dac over amp for convenience, but that has the useful side effect of keeping the dac physicaly warm when it switches off after not being used for a while. The usual source is USB from the phone but I have also used the optical S/PDIF input and it's just as good. Overall very pleased with them.

Metal case, better knob design, led ring around the knob, 4.4mm balanced wiring socket, twice the power and transient overhead, in addition to all the original features of AtomAmp+. Most importantly - analog power supply with outboard big/beefy AC mains transformer = No Noise radiation. I have sent switcher psu headphone amps to audio prison for the crime of noise pollution and interference with my radio gear.

Sadly, this was not my first headphone amp. This is a clearly superior product. It’s hard to believe these can be purchased for 129.00. This amp drives my hd 650’s with ease. Kudos JDS.

I have used the atom AMP 2 and DAC 2 with my Meze 109 Pro for a couple months and must say I absolutely love it, really brings out the detail in music, and all in all is a great fit since the sound on the 109 is balanced, but a bit on the warmer side. All in all a great combo and more than enough power to drive my headset.

Im not a professional when it comes to audio, however it takes care of my beyerdynamic DT 990 headset perfectly.

I bought The Element in 2018, and I decided to try the new Atom 2 Stack. And to simply put it, it drives everything I have in my collection. It’s transparent, it’s simple, it scales well with many headphones. If you want something American-built and American-engineered, this is it. The Atom 2 Stack. The engraving is a nice touch, too.

I didn’t know how underpowered my headphones were until i tried these. Great value and customizable. Definitely recommend

Wonderful product and a fantastic company. John is the man! I have to deduct one star because my LEDs don’t match in color or brightness and it annoys my OCD. But otherwise perfect!

This amp is my favorite below $500 amp, sounded great with my Modhouse Argon and Hifiman planar headphones as well as sennhieser HD600. Small footprint and solid build, highly recommended!

This is the first Atom 2 amplifier I've purchased, having bought an Atom 1 some 5 years ago. This new setup is for my son, who is taking his first steps in composition, and is using the amplifier with JDS Labs' DAC 2, and a pair of Beyerdynamic DT880 headphones. Both of us are very pleased with the results, which deliver far and away the best computer-audio experience we've tried.

Sound quality is way above what I expected at this price range. Great customer service. Made a couple of phone calls to JDS and someone always answered promptly and were very helpful. Highly recommend JDS products.

The Atom 2 can push my planars at higher volumes with subjectively better/cleaner sound compared to the Topping L30. I'm not hyping night and day difference, but I use the Atom 2 exclusively now.

I am very happy with the Atom Amp 2. I use it as a pre-amp for a Carver Amplifier and Revel bookshelf speakers. It sounds clean and distortion free and it needs very little from the volume knob to get loud. It feels well-made and I love the small footprint and small price tag. I only wish I knew I could use a headphone amplifier in this way sooner. I would have bought it a long time ago.

I started using the atom amp2 as a preamp with a small Schiit power amp, and it worked wonderfully (you can even switch between 2 sources, which is cool for such a small device) After a while I got the Sennheiser hd650 and the amp2 drives them easily, it gets a really nice sound with lots of bass.

New atom2 arrived. Wow, just wow. The aluminum enclosure really makes a world of difference, so sleek. I LOVE IT. Thank you again

First, received my atom 2 bundle the other day after reading rave reviews online and ordering. They did not disappoint! I love this stack and my open back hifimans more than I ever thought I could.

I am new to the audio market and was recommended to buy the Atom Series 2 (Amp and DAC) by a close friend. I have received your products, and I am quite pleased with the amazing quality of it. It sounds like I'm in an actual studio while using it with my 80-ohm headset.

Just want to say I am SUPER happy with my new Atom DAC 2 and Atom Amp 2. I've never owned a DAC or a headphone amp before. Totally blown away at the sound quality coming out of my speakers and headphones. Also great results pre-amping my Marantz receiver. Very pleased to upgrade my audio experience for a reasonable cost.
